SOLAR BATTERIES & BATTERY HUB

Retrofit batteries, also known as energy storage systems, are increasingly popular at commercial premises and businesses seeking to reduce energy costs and achieve greater energy independence. These systems allow users to store excess energy for use during periods of high demand or at periods during the day when the cost of buying-in electricity is high. While this addition to your energy infrastructure comes with upfront costs, it can provide significant long-term savings through reduced reliance on traditional utility providers and potentially even allow for off-grid renewable energy use. Battery technology has also advanced rapidly in recent years, offering systems with higher capacity, improved efficiency, and longer lifespans than earlier iterations. Anglia Solar offers retrofit options tailored to your specific system, making the process more accessible and user-friendly than ever before.

CAN I HAVE BATTERIES WITHOUT SOLAR PANELS?
We are very pleased to say yes.
Fitting batteries may be the simple answer. Fitting batteries will mean you need to have - or at least move to - a dual electricity tariff whereby you can enjoy a much reduced off-peak rate - meaning cheaper electricity for a number of hours when peak normal grid pricing does not apply. Many utility companies offer such dual/benefit tariffs. Generally this means you pay a higher price for each unit of electricity you use during the day but during the night/off peak a much lower rate when national demand is reduced. During these hours you can charge batteries or a Battery Hub in order to draw on this reserve of cheap electricity during the day, avoiding to a large extent using the national grid at the normal higher electricity rates.
Example:
Day Rate: 33p per kWh
Night Rate: 14p per kWh
This represents a saving of 42+%
You can charge your own Battery Hub overnight and it will be all ready to be drawn from when your demand is high.

COMMERCIAL BATTERY STORAGE
Commercial battery storage systems, also known as battery banks, battery systems, battery backup or power walls, are an increasingly popular and a practical solution for businesses which are looking to save money on their energy bills and reduce their carbon footprint. Battery storage is a technology which allows the storage of energy generated by solar panels or wind turbines. It can also simply store electricity from the grid brought in during off-peak hours and much lower cost, to be used when needed. This means that businesses can rely less on the grid when electricity demand is high, reducing the need for expensive infrastructure upgrades and lowering overall energy costs. Battery storage systems and battery banks are an increasingly popular and practical solution which Anglia Solar supply and fit through its Battery Hub division. Battery Hubs in the UK have already dramatically reduced people's reliance on the grid and one customer had reported his battery system in Norfolk when linked to his solar panels reduced his grid consumption by over 90% during the Spring, Summer and Autumn months. This then just leaves the Winter months when topping his home battery pack up over night with cheap-rate electricity allows him to enjoy a much reduced bill.

Another advantage of battery storage is that it can provide a reliable source of backup power. We are able to fit extra technology which allows you to draw power from your batteries in almost all normal power-outage situations. In the event of a power outage, the Anglia Solar Battery Hub system can keep critical appliances and systems running, such as refrigerators, heating and cooling systems, and medical equipment.

Further, battery storage has the potential to revolutionise the way we think about energy consumption and production. As more businesses adopt this technology, there is an opportunity for a more decentralised energy system. This means that businesses, and even businesses working together as energy communities can generate and store their own energy, reducing the need for large, centralised power plants and transmission infrastructure. In addition, with the right systems, businesses can sell excess energy back to the grid, helping to stabilise the electricity supply and lowering costs for everyone. Overall, battery storage has the potential to create a more resilient, sustainable, and cost-effective energy system for everyone.
